Senior Project Engineer - Mega LNG Flagship - Western Australia

Roster Fly in/Fly out basis 21 days on / 7 days off Top Tier EPCM construction contractors for world renowned Mega LNG Flagship Project Client: We are now recruiting for the construction phase of this project (starting March 2011) and are seeking interested civil engineering candidates to attend for interview in Dublin in February 2011.
POSITION PURPOSE
To plan, organise and direct project engineering team to deliver the project on time, within budget and to a standard acceptable in line with company guidelines; supports and acts on behalf of the Project Manager.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety, Health & Environment Contribute to a culture of “Safety & Health above all else”, through: – compliance with all Company SH&E policies and procedures – following instructions and rules to prevent accidents – taking personal accountability for own safety and at all times being aware of the impact of actions on the safety of others – participating and contributing to the effectiveness of Company safety activities, including providing advice on safe work practices and assisting other employees in carrying out these responsibilities by support and example – immediately reporting any injury, incident or “near miss” encountered during the course of work – ensuring all staff and contractors are appropriately and continuously trained and inducted into company SH&E standards and comply with company SH&E procedures – reviewing and approving Safe Work Method Statements – maintaining environmental compliance and promotes sustainability – No personal injuries or incidents – Full compliance with all Company SH&E policies and procedures – All consultants and contractors within area of responsibility comply with SH&E standards and procedures Project Delivery Contribute to the delivery of Project/s on time, within budget and quality standards, including: – planning, maintaining, coordinating and monitoring construction programs and completion of activities involved in Project/s, and communicating on same with relevant stakeholders – organising, designing and implementing temporary works and infrastructure, as required – preparing work packages, documentation and quality requirements for tender by potential subcontractors – evaluating subcontractors to ensure capacity and capability to carry out the work – ensuring the works between subcontractors is coordinated with minimal interface disruptions – seeking the most efficient techniques, methods and materials – informing the Project Manager on any significant SH&E, quality or other difficulties which will impact Project delivery or community relations and taking appropriate action to rectify – recommending remedial action in cases of non-compliance to quality standards – guiding and instructing others in essential aspects of quality management – ensuring quality of manufacture and construction satisfies company’s requirements and standards – reviewing and approving shop drawings – Project delivered on time and within budget – Quality standards achieved – Regular face to face feedback given to team Project Coordination Ensure the satisfactory implementation of the project management system, including: – managing technical documentation – establishing regular reports on technical, systems and productivity performances to the Project Manager – administering the subcontractor contract(s), including ▪ the identification of variations in work that have been instructed ▪ identification, investigation and documentation of non-compliance with Project Plan requirements ▪ issuing non-compliance reports and agreeing remedial actions and verifying their completion – engaging in inspection and verification activities required by the Inspection and Test Plans – ensuring completion of Quality Control Checklists and reports by field staff – verifying conformance prior to accepting completed works, liaising with client as necessary – taking leadership role in co-ordination meetings – managing communication between subcontractors and team – checking Requests for Information are valid and taking appropriate action to satisfy requests – Zero non-compliance from subcontractors – Timely and accurate reporting Reporting Ensure comprehensive records are established and maintained to assist decision making, including: – reporting through agreed reporting lines on project progress and stage assessments – preparing and issuing site instructions – preparing and issuing product/documentation for approval by client in accordance with contract – preparing monthly reports against Plan, identifying variations and corrective action, if required – Reporting to a quality standard in a timely fashion Planning Contribute to the development and delivery of Project Management Plan/s, including: – preparing relevant Project Plans, including Quality Plans, SH&E Plans, Project Instructions, Process Control Plans and other procedures – defining priorities within Project Management Plan/s to ensure project is delivered to project objectives – coordinate and control engineering and technical activities on the Project as directed by the Project Manager and communicates plans to relevant team members – identifying site infrastructure needs, including temporary works and infrastructure – ensuring the appropriate allocation of work to team, consultants and subcontractors to achieve objectives – ensuring timely and accurate project planning documentation which meets company’s standards – Project Manager approval of Project Plans – Allocated Project components delivered to standard; on time and within budget. Business Relationships Provide responsive engineering services to relevant stakeholders including: – maintaining productive relationships with the Project Team, client representatives, sub-contractors and supervisors – delivering engineering services that meet the needs of relevant stakeholders – where appropriate, liaising with the client’s representative on engineering matters – Relevant stakeholders express satisfaction with relationships and functional output Leadership Lead and develop an effective and productive team, including: – managing the work performance of self and direct reports – developing alignment between team capability and project’s objectives – ensuring role clarity, including responsibilities and reporting lines, exists for team members – recruiting, developing and retaining high calibre team members – identifying resource and skill gaps and developing strategies to bridge gaps – developing operational flexibilities within and between team members – encouraging an environment of sharing knowledge and ideas to ensure continuous improvement within the team – demonstrating on a daily basis personal behaviours that uphold company values – Self and team members deliver on outputs consistently – Team members report satisfaction with development opportunities – Peers and team members report behaviours are aligned with company values – Existence of relevant and timely succession planning

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: – Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Construction Management Experience: – 10 years construction experience
